My old friends in Toronto art-rock band Iluminas have finally released their first polished full-length album: Apollo. Though I’ve heard their songs for years, it’s a pleasure to listen to this finished product, especially considering the surprisingly playful, detailed arrangements and production.

Taste is a new band from Toronto’s Ewan Kay. I’ve know Kay since about 2007. He’s a good dude. He’s also a member of another great Toronto band, Moon King. Kay’s latest project shares some of that band’s fluorescent dream-pop aesthetic, but feels more grounded in comparison with Moon King‘s aery swirl.

The band is playing the Silver Dollar on Friday, September 25th, with a pretty stacked bill of comrades.
